First tests during remission
The days have turned into weeks and months since last visiting MD Anderson. (And yes, since I have written!) I am now in Houston for my first full round of tests since going into remission. The last few months have been full of relief and thanksgiving. Christine and I have enjoyed the time together at home without the chaos and uncertainty that filled our lives the past year.
Our trip to Yellowstone was wonderful. We did not want to come home. I hope to put some pics up soon. Last weekend, I traveled to Catalina Island for a little fishing and golfing on the occasion of my brother-in-law's birthday. Michael Murray is 40!
I will hear the results of these tests by Friday. Lord, have mercy on me.

You will be in our prayers.. we so relate to your message as we spent months at MDA this past year...God is still on his throne. I will pray that the Lord have mercy on you. God Bless
God be with you, Greg.You are in our prayers.
I'm praying for you and Christine!
Greg,
May the contemplation of a few verse from the Bible take your mind off waiting on the doctor's report to the promise of Jesus Christ our Lord:
Paraphrase of what Jesus said in Luke 9:
'Whoever gives up his life for my sake will save it, but whoever tries to save his own life will lose it.'
Paraphrase of a verse from Philipians Ch3: 'That in all things, by prayers, supplications, thanksgiving, bring your need before the Lord. And He will grant you peace that surpasses all reasons'. Its funny that the only assured response from God is : He will guard our heart and set it in peacefulness. Apparently the guarding of our mind must be of great concern to our God.
Another paraphrase of what Jesus said in Luke Ch 11 'though you are not good, yet you know to give good things to your children. How much more will your Heavenly Father give Holy Spirit to those who asks of Him'. If He is willing to grant the most precious, how much more will he grant to meetour need? Yet God's timing just never seems to be our timing isn't it? but His timing is always the best timing.
Finally, let's all be reminded to be joyful and be cheerful. For the joy of the Lord is our strength. Singing of praise songs and old old hymns always work magic for me. May it work magic for you too.
We will join you in praising God for all the wonderful things He has done and will Do in your lives
Dear Lord and Father of mankind,
Forgive our foolish ways!
Reclothe us in our rightful mind;
In purer lives Thy service find,
In deeper reverence, praise.
Drop Thy still dews of quietness,
Till all our strivings cease;
Take from our souls the strain and stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of Thy peace.
Breathe through the heats of our desire
Thy coolness and Thy balm;
Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire;
Speak through the earthquake, wind and fire,
O still small voice of calm!
John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-92)
