Dishman visit
The Dishman's (Mark, Angie, John, and the kids) made a trip down to Houston for a short beach vacation trip arranged so they could visit us. Christine has been struggling a lot with severe headaches recently, but fortunately, she felt pretty well Saturday. So we went out for dinner Saturday to Star Pizza, self-declared best pizza in Houston. Afterward, we hung out at 2115 Taft, a coffee house at which I have spent many hours working using their free wi-fi hookup. It has a unique (tempting) book store in it and plenty of couches to enjoy while reading the books. We sat around and talked about books and such, and then strolled into the connected art gallery, which is now showing an artist whose work I would classify as contemporary expressionist iconography. That evening there so happened to be a swing dance event going on in the other adjoining space and the music flowed into the gallery. So we found ourselves in this odd environment where we contemplated this sacred art to the music of Louis Prima. The result is shown below.
If you are wondering where the energy comes from during radiation treatments to swing dance, I will admit this dance lasted about 45 seconds, after which I found one of those couches to plop into.

Great picture. It looks as though you guys are reenacting the scene in the painting on the left. “Greet one another with a holy ‘dip’ ” ( http://www.gnpcb.org/esv/search/?q=2+Corinthians+13:12 ).
Greg,
It continues to be good to hear from you and see you! We continue to thank God for His faithfulness and the obvious joy in the midst of great challenges that is coming through!
In Him,
Jerry
What a pleasure it is to see these joyful pictures. Thanks.
Greg and Christine
Thanks for sharing. I love the spark in your eyes. They convey such joy and blissfulness. Thank you for blessing us with photos of those invaluable moments. Indeed, the joy of the Lord is our strength, and cheerfulness is great medicine.
May I share with you two Biblical insights which have brouught me peace and harmonization, which I hope, will edify you as you have edified me.
First Insight: I Chronicle 29:17
I know my God, that you test the heart, and are pleased with integrity.
The word that brought harmonization to my soul is "test". Now, we are justified freely by faith. But, it is not not a cheap nor easy faith. From Abrahm to David, from David to the prophets, and for the saints throughout the ages, real saints were/are "trialed by fire". That is why James and Peter both assured us that, after the fiery trial, our faith will be purer than gold, and more precious than pure gold.
Second Insight, A man after the heart of God
=============================================
I Samuel 13:14 Samuel to Saul ".... the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people.."
Jeremiah 3:15 Oracle of God thru Jeremiah concerning Jesus: "Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding."
Wonder what is meant by " one that is after God's own heart". Wonder how as a mere man, will he be able to communicate the richnes of His vision and burden? For Jesus no problem, what about the saints today?
Blessings and Grace to You from God our Father,
Henry
