Unhooked!
Yesterday, I got unhooked from my last planned chemo treatment. Thus ends the grand plan for surgeries, radiation, and chemo.
Next month I go to MD Anderson for a week and a half of extensive tests and consultations to find out "what now?".
But today my heart is filled with thanksgiving to my Lord - who has answered our prayers by bringing us to this day that was so hard to imagine back in June of '03.
Incidentally, my CEA has been creeping up a bit - from 1.8 to 2.6 to 3.9. Still under the 4-4.5 range of concern. Dr. Perkins has been telling me me not to interpret too much from that - "it's just bumping around in normal range". Well, I've been ready for a bump down. Here is me with Dr. Juvvadi, my other oncologist here in Dallas. Our smile is the result of having found out that my CEA this week was 3.4. That was a nice little cherry on top of getting unhooked.

Congratulations Greg!
Now go out and throw a few innings for the Astros. Teach that punk Clemens your chemo-curve.
Greg,
You must write an article or book! It's been a blessing to see you endeavoring to hold fast to Christ in the midst of such trying circumstances and I think others need to be encouraged by you.
Thank you brother!
Jerry
Greg, we praise the Lord for bringing you to this point! The Lord has taken you through such deep sanctification that I expect you are 98% glorified by now. Would Christine agree with that assessment? :)
All our love, Cody and Julie
Thank You Lord and congratulations to Greg and Christine for your steadfast faithfulness
Hi Greg,
We've been following your saga knowing all too well how it can be and glad you are at the end of this current ordeal. God is faithful, isn't he?
When you or Christine feel up to it could you send us Tim Rosendale's address. He sent your lovely letter to us along with his own recently.
Thanks for your kind words.
I hope you can spend some really good time now not feeling all the "yuk" that goes along with chemo. God bless you, we will continue to pray for you and Christine. Jean and Dick
God Bless........

Praise God! All such good news. We look forward to seeing you & celebrating. Perhaps a dinner since you won't be feeling so yucky on your next visit. We leave Oct. 6 for 11 days, so you'll have the run of the place. Hugs to you and Christine.
Greg, I think of you daily and just can't imagine what you have been through these past 10 years. I have only been through my cancer treatment almost a year and I hope you can give me the inspiation that I need and am just on preventative cancer . I have 4 more months to go. My goal is to see our son , Steve in Germany before he leaves for Iraq and to go back after their first baby is born in March. Then after we get back I have my last infusion and two more weeks of chemo pills. Please convey this to your parents who we love also. Willeyne Berger from St. Louis, MO
