So just how unfair is it?
Most folks, upon being diagnosed with stage IV cancer, start thinking about how unfair it is - thoughts about how much life they are missing out on. OK, so what happens when an enginerd gets stage IV cancer? He does not approach things normally. Instead, he breaks out Excel, googles to find insurance actuary data for the US, and comes up with something like this...

I'm shocked at that last statistic! Har-har.
I read somewhere that only about half of the people who have ever lived have already died (the other half are alive right now), so empirically you might have to change your last graph to 50%!
I was disappointed with Safari on my Mac. I switched to Firefox and I am much happier.
Now, Safari on iPhone ... THAT is cool.
As a country girl from Idaho, I confess to engi-ignorance. I have never looked at an insurance actuary...and I do not excel at Excel.
I will even admit that we have dial-up. Ugh.
I had a point when I started this, but have misplaced it. I wanted to say something wise and wonderful, smart and tender...
I guess I'll just say I'm sorry about the stage IV. I'm sorry.

As a left-brained, analytical engineer, I like the approach, although it seemed you could have reduced the number of graphs. As a Christian, I'm ready anytime. As a child of my living parents, I probably have another 25 years. I hope you can double that.

Picking up on Kevin McCoy's comment, we should also note that the final enemy to be "consumatively conquered" is Death (which has already been definitively conquered). Thus, we might want to change that last graph to run flat at the 50% line until an undisclosed point in time, at which point it drops to 0. This alternative requires a change to the x-axis from displaying age to displaying time, running from n to j, where n = now and j = judgment. How's that for nerdy?
