Update - no E.R.

The bleeding episode stopped as suddenly as it started. I no longer coughed any blood after waking up with the problem. The doctor on call said I did not need to be seen today and can wait until Tuesday when I'm scheduled to go in anyway for chemo to see my doctor about it.

Really weird day. I awoke in a panic coughing out fresh blood and wondering what in the world was happening to me. Now everything seems so normal again. Like nothing ever happened. One thing about this cancer thing - always something interesting going on.

Thanks for your support and for your notes of care and concern.

Glad to hear back after that post early this morning. I must admit the on-call doc sending you to pick up a prescription this morning lessened my concern somewhat, but I feel even better now that you have posted again. Thank God!

Yea dude, a very similar thing happened to me yesterday. I went to the bathroom and my stool came out bright red. I thought "oh no... blood in the stool is a very bad sign." and i considered all the possible causes... colon cancer, ulsers, or some other internal bleeding. Then after a few minutes of panic, i sudenly realized that i had eaten a bag of red flaming hot cheeto puffs for lunch a few hours earlier. and suddenly i felt ok again.

And thank YOU for staying in touch with us. For the most part, when we can't do anything else to help, we can definitely pray. Praying with more specificity is no less heard on high than general prayer, but it makes me (at least) feel like something a little more relevant to any specific need. I'm glad that was the end of this episode.
