Greg has gone to be with his Lord

It is with sadness that I report that Greg passed away about 6:15 am on Monday, January 17, 2011. His mother was at his side, and his last hours were peaceful and he did not appear to be suffering. More details will be posted here soon.

I apologize to people who normally receive the email updates from this site, I do not have the ability to send an update at this time. Feel free to spread the word to those you know who knew Greg.

Greg was a brave, brilliant, and talented individual. I enjoyed my collaboration with him as much as any in my long TI career. His passion for life existed well before his illness and never wavered. He should continue to be an inspiration to us all.

Oh, Greg... you've finally won— your hard-fought faith is now SIGHT, and death has been put in it's place— BEHIND you! Enjoy your perfect rest, brother, in the beautiful presence of our King! We all miss you so, and we shall grieve the loss of such a faithful friend; yet, not without hope. For we only "lose" you for a short time; and love, stronger than death, is NEVER lost. May the Holy Spirit comfort us all, especially your family, as we mourn, looking forward to our joyous reunion.

Hello Rollin, thanks for the update. Heard thru a friend. Greg was awesome, is awesome, and is in awesomeness as we speak. Today is special knowing Greg is home.

My sincere condolences to family and friends. This is a huge loss. I am honored that Greg was the valedictorian of my Senior Class at Berkner High School and I sincerely wish I would have had the opportunity to know him better. I don't think Greg and I ever had any classes together. However, I heard quite a bit about his brave battle and was very impressed that he was able to lead our class. The last time I talked to him (and quite possibly the only time) was at our ten year reunion in 1996. My husband and I were extremely impressed with what Greg had accomplished since high school. I am grateful to the Hewlett family for this blog which allowed me to keep up with his life. God bless you...
