The Struggle Has Ended

A rough weekend

I haven't written anything this weekend because since Saturday night, I've had a fever and body aches and have been having trouble sleeping.

This is in addition to the weakness from low RBC count for which I should start seeing improvement this week due to the iron. I talked with Dr. Oeffinger yesterday and he thought the fever symptoms were probably due to the drugs I'm taking that counter the allergic effects of the iron transfusion. He told me it would be safe to hang in there until this afternoon (Monday) when I go in for my next iron treatment. They'll check me over then.
I'm really looking forward to all this strength they say I'll be getting back beginning this week!

Greg,
Mark told me on Sunday that your were struggling this weekend. We continue to pray (multidaily) for strength and recovery for you. James 1:2-4 gives us strong encouragement to go beyond "toughing" it out and to see the perfect end of our sanctification as the eternal outcome. I confess that, never having had to face the physical challenges that you have conquered and are conquering and will conquer, I can only lay claim to these promises by faith. Your faithfulness despite your struggle gives me a model that I hope I will emulate if I ever have to struggle in anything approaching which you are surmounting.
Stay the course, good and faithful servant.

Greg, remind me of who you knew at MIT, I'm loaded with connections but don't remember which ones knew you and which came after you. I'd be glad to hook 'em up with prayer for you.
You're a gamer. You and Roger are Famers.

GREG,
MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I TALKED WITH MICHAEL YESTERDAY FOR FATHER'S DAY. WE BOTH HAD A HARD TIME TALKING AFTER HE GAVE ME THE NEWS. YOU, ESPECIALLY, AND YOUR FAMILY, MEAN SO MUCH TO ALL IN THE ERNST CLAN. IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP, I WILL DO EVERYTHING WITHIN MY POWER TO MEET YOUR REQUEST.
